they/them

Here is what I am about:

Telling stories.

There’s a story in everything that we do. From the dawn of time, from the first connection made between two human creatures, we’ve been telling stories. I would argue that overall, it’s how we communicate. Proving our sapience to one another relies upon our ability to spin the endlessly rich internal experience into a story.

I tell lots of stories, in lots of ways. I’m a lifelong performer and theatre artist, as well as a writer and an aspiring academic. I tell the story of myself through my transgender identity, choosing to put forward into the world what I believe is vital through things as simple as my name or my chosen pronouns (they/them, for the record). I am openly neurodivergent and mentally ill, and choose every day how much of that story to tell to the people around me.

However, storytelling is by nature a collaborative activity. It’s about communicating to others, and learning how to communicate what we want to communicate as effectively as possible. That's where my passion for community engagement, arts outreach, and peer/community education comes in: I want to help the people around me, my neighbors, tell their stories.

Reach out if you want to chat, and let’s see what kind of magic we can make!

Sincerely,
